February News!

March 7, 2014

Sleep, Staring, Well had a great month-long showing at the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust, and while we are sad to be leaving such a  unique space, we’re excited for the project’s next steps.

We’re happy to announce that we’ve been honored with a Puffin West grant! We’re so grateful for the support, which will help us bring more events to the public in the near future.

Meanwhile, Douglas Wadle’s soundscores for the project are available for your listening pleasure at re-re-roar.org, a great online archive of experimental music. The site provides a way to hear the work’s sounds independently as well as learn a little more about the creative process. Sleep, Staring, Well in 2014

January 31, 2014

It was so wonderful seeing so many of you at our events this month! The premiere was a big success and such a great experience for us. We thank you all for coming and participating, and have to admit that erasing all traces of our being in the space was pretty bittersweet. I’m sure by now most of you have seen the images on Facebook (and if not, you can find the albums HERE and HERE), but we can’t help but share a few that stand out here!

We’re currently at the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust with a small installation following a workshop / presentation held on January 26th. It’s so interesting having the works in such a different environment, and we’re really pleased with how our mini-Sleep, Staring, Well turned out!

The project has garnered some great press, which you can read HERE.

Thanks to everyone for supporting the project. It was an honor sharing it with you!

Come mid-January, we will be premiering at Automata, a truly great space in the Chinatown district of Los Angeles. There’s still a lot to do between now and then, but we’re working hard to get everything ready for the big reveal! You might have noticed some of the going-ons around here: a snazzy new website (huzzah!) and a few great events around LA (check out pictures from our Automata preview HERE and video from our museum talk HERE).

Which brings us to some exciting news:

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our Indiegogo campaign for Sleep, Staring, Well! The funds from this campaign will allow us not only to enhance the premiere, but also ensure that we are able to share the work with a wide and diverse audience. Already, we’ve received interest from the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust to host workshops, as well as from several schools. We need your support to take Sleep, Staring, Well beyond its January premiere!

Check out our Indiegogo page HERE. Your support means the world to us!
